Privacy Policy

The short version: no accounts, no ad trackers, no third-party analytics, and nothing about you is sold or shared — ever. We do count visits, and this page explains exactly how.

What we collect

Email address — only if you submit it yourself (deadline reminders, checklist PDFs). It is used solely to send what you asked for; every email includes a one-tap unsubscribe.
Visit statistics, measured by us on our own servers — for each page view we record the page, the time, the page you arrived from, the device type, browser and operating system, and the country your connection resolves to. There is no third-party analytics service involved; this data never leaves our server.
A random visitor id. To tell a returning reader from a new one, US visitors get a first-party cookie holding a random number and nothing else — no name, no email, no address. Everyone else, and anyone whose browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, gets no cookie at all: for them the id is recalculated daily from a rotating secret, so it stops identifying them after 24 hours.
Your network, not your address. We do not store your IP address, in any form. What is written down is the network block it belongs to — for example 203.0.113.0/24, which covers up to 256 addresses and identifies an internet provider, not a person.
Outbound click counts — when you follow a partner link we record which page the click came from and the same random visitor id, so we can see which pages are useful. No personal details are attached.
A "you already subscribed" marker. Once you sign up for reminders, your browser keeps a small cookie so we stop showing you the signup form on every page. It holds no email address — just the fact that you said yes. Clearing your cookies brings the form back.

How long we keep it

Individual page views: 90 days. After that they are deleted automatically, and only anonymous totals remain.
The per-visitor counters (number of visits, page views and clicks) are kept while the visitor id is active and deleted after 12 months without a visit.
The identity cookie expires 180 days after your last visit. Clearing your browser's cookies removes it immediately, and we then have no way to connect your next visit to your previous ones.
Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

What we don't do

No advertising trackers, no marketing cookies, no third-party scripts — nothing on this site loads from another company's server.
No cross-site tracking: our cookie is readable only by this website and tells us nothing about where else you go.
No selling, renting or sharing of personal information — to anyone, ever.
No profiles built about you as a person: the data above answers "how is this page doing", not "who is this".

Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we honour it automatically: no cookie is set for you, and your visit is counted with a daily-rotating identifier that expires the same night. You do not have to click anything.

Your choices

You can ask us to show, correct or delete any data connected to your email address at any time — one message to [email protected] is enough. Visit statistics are not tied to your identity, so the fastest way to remove yourself from them is to clear this site's cookie in your browser; if you want the stored counters deleted as well, email us the cookie value (browser settings → cookies → snv) and we will delete that row.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you live in California, you additionally have the right to know what personal information we hold about you (see "What we collect" above — an email address is the only item that identifies you by name; the visit data is pseudonymous), to correct or delete it, to know how long we keep each category (see "How long we keep it"), and to not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA — so there is nothing to opt out of, and no "Do Not Sell or Share" toggle is needed; we honour Global Privacy Control regardless. To exercise any right, email [email protected]; we verify requests by replying to the address the data is attached to, and respond within 45 days.
