Carlsbad Caverns Natural Entrance Camera

Perched above the natural entrance this camera shows the mouth of the cave and the winding trail that descends into the cavern. It's also where the bats emerge from each night. Carlsbad Cavern is one of the most famous and venerated caves on Earth. It is also home to several hundred thousand Brazilian free-tailed bats. Bats are present year-round at the cavern, although the number of bats peaks in August and September with the arrival of migratory bats and when bat pups who were born in the cave take their first flights.
